Santa Clara stadium Disposition and Development Agreement (DDA)

Despite the dishonest statements the Stadium Five made pre-election about "iron-clad" language, the agreement between the 49ers and the City of Santa Clara pre-election was in a non-binding term sheet. This is the same material that the 49ers front group placed in the ballot pamplet. The voters did not realize they were actually voting on preliminary terms subject to change. The final terms are in what is called the Disposition and Development Agreement (DDA) and mentioned in the term sheet in Article 3.

Although expected to be completed within a month or two of a successful election, the DDA took another year and a half after the June 08, 2010 election to be completed. A draft first appeared on December 2, 2011, and was approved on December 13, 2011 by the Santa Clara City Council. Part of the reason it took so long has to be that the terms of the deal changed so much from what voters were told about via the term sheet information in the ballot pamplet.
