The city is getting in bed with the billionaire1 who owns the San Francisco 49ers and is ready to make contributions to the team to help them build a stadium in Santa Clara. Using public funds to pay for a billionaire's playground for the rich and powerful is certainly a component of the modern American dream. But it doesn't have to work that way as was demonstrated in East Rutherford, New Jersey with the new Meadowlands Stadium.
